Also called Smoke of the Earth, or Earth smoke due to the ability of the sap of the plant to cause the eyes to water. This has led to it's traditional use for eye conditions, such as conjunctivitis (as an eyewash).

Other traditional uses include; constipation, wind, liver and gallbladder conditions, psoriasis, eczema and itchy skin conditions (especially in liver disease), and intestinal parasites.

Not recommended for those with epilepsy.
May increase the effect of blood pressure medication, so would need to be monitored by a practitioner in this case.
